Partial Discharge

Partial Discharge Detection

IRPD Technic offers Partial Discharge Detection services using advanced techniques to identify potential insulation failures and electrical breakdowns in switchgear before they lead to costly failures or safety hazards.
Our methods provide accurate, non-invasive diagnostics to ensure the safety and reliability of your electrical systems.

  • Airborne Ultrasound (Surface Discharge Detection): This technique uses ultrasonic sensors to detect surface discharges that occur due to insulation degradation or contamination.
Airborne ultrasound captures high-frequency sound waves produced by partial discharges, enabling early detection of issues like tracking and corona that may not yet be visible to the naked eye.

  • Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) Detection (Internal Discharge): TEV sensors are used to detect internal discharges within switchgear caused by insulation breakdown.
These discharges generate transient voltages on the surfaces of the switchgear, which are measured by the TEV sensors to detect and quantify internal partial discharges.
This method is essential for identifying internal insulation failures that could lead to equipment malfunction or failure.

By incorporating these detection techniques, IRPD Technic helps you prevent costly downtime, improve operational safety, and extend the life of your switchgear.
