Partial Discharge
At IRPD Technic, we specialize in Partial Discharge Detection services, utilizing cutting-edge technology to identify potential insulation failures and electrical breakdowns in switchgear and high-voltage equipment. By detecting these early warning signs, we help prevent costly failures, unplanned downtime, and serious safety hazards.
Partial discharge occurs when insulation deteriorates, leading to small electrical discharges that, if left unchecked, can result in major equipment failure. Our non-invasive testing methods allow us to assess the condition of your electrical assets without interrupting operations, providing you with precise diagnostics and actionable insights to mitigate risks before they escalate.

Our methods provide accurate, non-invasive diagnostics to ensure the safety and reliability of your electrical systems.
Airborne Ultrasound (Surface Discharge Detection)
This technique uses ultrasonic sensors to detect surface discharges that occur due to insulation degradation or contamination. Airborne ultrasound captures high-frequency sound waves produced by partial discharges, enabling early detection of issues like tracking and corona that may not yet be visible to the naked eye.
Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) Detection (Internal Discharge)
TEV sensors are used to detect internal discharges within switchgear caused by insulation breakdown. These discharges generate transient voltages on the surfaces of the switchgear, which are measured by the TEV sensors to detect and quantify internal partial discharges. This method is essential for identifying internal insulation failures that could lead to equipment malfunction or failure.
